Learning Environment
At “The Junior School”, learning is child centered and targeted on the development of the coherent, manipulative, analytical, mathematical and logical skills. Children are nurtured and taken care with compassion and patience to make their time at school productive, enjoyable, innovative and enlightening. We have partnered with The Chrysalis a curriculum that nurtures to the key skills that needs to be developed at the Primary Level. The Tamil Nadu Nursery Primary Board recognizes the school.
At “The Little Kingdom Senior School“, the learning environment is thought provoking and student centered. During the course of study children are made to think, write and work in groups and individually to kindle their questioning minds. The methodology attempts to break down the examination barrier thus opening up new vistas to face challenges by thinking, debating, critically analyzing, discussing and learning.
Other Learning Techniques
The school also features a host of learning techniques, which plays a vital role of every child’s schooling experience everyday. Project Based Learning, Expedition Learning, Inquiry Based Learning, Self Directed Learning, Cross Curricular Learning, Outdoor Learning Activities, Field Visits and Culture and Citizenship Education are some of the techniques that are imbibed in the daily schooling activities all the way from Nursery to Grade XII.
Students will be able to learn through application and their own experiences, in the local context. This in turn will help them become better learners and make them more independent in their approach towards their studies.
Evaluation
At the junior level tests and various kinds of assessments are conducted regularly to understand the level in knowledge transaction within the Grade rooms. Every month worksheets are also conducted to assess the child’s learning capacity. The child’s academic progress and his/ her involvement in the various school activities are graded and recorded in the progress card once a term.
We have partnered with Report Bee, Chennai for the comprehensive reports on the Academic, Skills as well as the Physical Development of all the students. Detailed Assessments in partnership with Educational Initiatives gives a comprehensive report of students performances in the worksheets for Grade VI to VIII.
Academic performance of the senior students is evaluated through regular assessments, tests and worksheets. Students from Grade VI up, apart from their worksheets attempt three unit tests and two exams during the course of the academic year. Grades are awarded for the students of Grade III to Grade VIII and marks are allocated for students from Grade IX up.
